As we know, keroncong is a traditional music that usually used in a traditional activity. Keroncong spread since 1512, and became popular since 17th century. Keroncong includes some traditional music instrument, for example zither, fiddle, flute, tambour, and gong.
Nowadays, keroncong plays with another way. Bondan Prakoso ft. Fade To Black, using keroncong for their new song “Keroncong Protol”. In “Kroncong Protol”, they made Keroncong in different way, Keroncong itself sounds more modern and acceptable in teenagers’ ears.
Postsruckturalist theory says that society and traditional develop with era’s development and their environment. Like Bondan and his team did, he added modern instrument into his song. The reason is, his song could reach the teenagers who leave their own traditional music.
